This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan (VSL).
Two 1-hour lectures (pre-recorded) & two 2-hour workshops (Topic A: Mon 5:30pm-7:30pm or Tues 9:30am-11:30am Topic B: Wed 9:30am-11:30am or Wed 5:30pm-7:30pm) each week via connected classroom, as well as other study in your own time.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Skills assessments: role-play scenarios, presentations, practical, observation (including assessments in the workplace)
Knowledge assessments: multiple choice, true or false, short answer questions
Case study: case study scenario, reflection
Portfolio: samples of work in a workplace environment
Project: report, research-based project, journal, essay
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There is a 160 hour work placement for this course and individualised program will be designed to accommodate student and industry needs.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Mental Health qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 20 units of competency, including 15 core and 5 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
