Course Details

This qualification reflects the role of those workers who are advanced practitioners in a health and/or community services context and who require a high level of knowledge and skills in case management in order to provide specialist services to clients with complex and diverse needs.

Workers at this level are required to demonstrate autonomy, well-developed judgement, adaptability and responsibility.

No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

ENROLLING IN FIRST AID UNITS OF COMPETENCY
If you are seeking to enrol in a First Aid unit of competency you are advised that to complete the unit you must be able to perform basic life support skills, for example control bleeding and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If you have a disability that would prevent you from performing required basic life support skills you are advised that you will not be able to achieve the unit of competency.

A minimum 3 year tertiary qualification or equivalent in an associated field
This qualification is for those with extensive industry experience who hold a minimum 3 year tertiary (higher education) qualification or equivalent in an associated field (community services). Although no attendance is required for the delivery of this qualification, the course is best suited to people who are independent learners and proactive. Time management and ability to work self-directed is critical to this style of delivery. Units of competency can commence anytime (if eligibility criteria is met) and will be available on an online learning platform called Moodle (which you will need the internet to access). From the Moodle you will be able to watch webinars to receive course content, access a book of readings relevant to each unit, as well as access and submit the assessment events. Your online study component can be completed at a time that suits you, although we recommend you aim to complete 2 to 3 units each semester to remain on track to finish the course in the required 2 year period.

Units of competency will be available on an online learning platform called Moodle (which you will need the internet to access). From the Moodle you will be able to watch webinars to receive course content, access a book of readings relevant to each unit, as well as access and submit the assessment events. Your online study component can be completed at a time that suits you. We anticipate it will take individuals 24 months to complete all 10 required units, as you will be balancing study with your current workload. Although, the pace of study can be quickened or slowed down depending on your individual circumstances. You will have access to a Training Advisor who is allocated to the course for any enquiries, feedback or support. This person will have regular contact with you to support you in completing the course.
The earliest start date for this course will be 04/02/2019. No attendance is required for the delivery of this qualification and you can enrol anytime. Study via online learning.
