ENROLLING IN FIRST AID UNITS OF COMPETENCY
If you are seeking to enrol in a First Aid unit of competency you are advised that to complete the unit you must be able to perform basic life support skills, for example control bleeding and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If you have a disability that would prevent you from performing required basic life support skills you are advised that you will not be able to achieve the unit of competency.
Units of competency will be available on an online learning platform called Moodle (which you will need the internet to access). From the Moodle you will be able to watch webinars to receive course content, access a book of readings relevant to each unit, as well as access and submit the assessment events. Your online study component can be completed at a time that suits you. We anticipate it will take individuals 24 months to complete all 10 required units, as you will be balancing study with your current workload. Although, the pace of study can be quickened or slowed down depending on your individual circumstances. You will have access to a Training Advisor who is allocated to the course for any enquiries, feedback or support. This person will have regular contact with you to support you in completing the course.
