Course Details

This course is for those with no previous employment or connection to the construction industry. It provides the educational requirements for those seeking a 'Fair Trading' Minor Maintenance/Cleaning non structural repair licence.

You will learn about Occupational Health and Safety, planning for work, following basic instructions and using tools and materials.

It is also suited to those undertaking VET in schools programs.

The unit CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry is designed to meet OHS regulatory authority requirements for OHS induction and must be achieved before access to any building and construction work site.

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context. A substantial period of work placement is recommended to ensure the unit outcomes are met.
There are no educational entry requirements for this qualification. However, before enrolling in this course you must successfully complete the WHS Induction Training (White Card) which will allow you entry into a construction worksite.
This course is suitable for new entrants and people who wish to gain a handyman or fencing licence
Classes are on Tuesday and Wednesday?s, start at 8:00am to 12:00pm with an half hour lunch, then 12:30pm to 1:30pm.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.
