Course Details

This qualification provides a trade outcome in carpentry, covering work in residential and commercial applications. Occupational titles may include:

  • Carpenter
  • Carpenter and Joiner

Completion of the general induction training program (commonly known as White Card) specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction worksite. Achievement of unit CPCCWHS1001 covers this requirement.

Students are required to research and report information to supplement other blended learning options and to complete class based assignment type projects. This includes the use of various media based technology and provides direction and further learning to students around accessing Industry based regulatory authorities and locating information when in the workplace.

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
