Course Details

This qualification provides a trade outcome in carpentry, covering work in residential and commercial applications. Occupational titles may include:

  • Carpenter
  • Carpenter and Joiner

Completion of the general induction training program (commonly known as White Card) specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction worksite. Achievement of unit CPCCWHS1001 covers this requirement.

The first date of attendance will be 11/03/2019. The enrolment process must be completed and payment made before attending class.

This course is for people who would like to complete an apprenticeship in Carpentry. Access to a suitably equipped carpentry based employment for workplace experience and reinforcement of learning plus employer endorsement

As a TAFE NSW student in this course, you will have access to:

Classes run from 8:00 until 16:30 with half hour lunch break. Attendance will be 10 2-day blocks, with site visits for employer endorsement and onsite assessment.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
