Course Details

The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as a specialist field of work.

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.

Learners must be an apprentice to complete this course. If you are not an apprentice, please contact the teaching staff to discuss your options prior to enrolment, as other training options may be available.

Course is delivered by 7 x 3 day blocks per year, along with facilitated face to face, online learning and workplace assignments/projects ? your teacher will confirm attendance timetable with you prior to classes commencing.

On successful completion of this course and sufficient work place experience, learners may apply for NSW contracting licence as a Wall and Floor Tiler.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Policy: Learners are required to supply and wear PPE ? this includes safety boots, cotton drill trousers, long sleeve shirt and safety glasses.

Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government, and as a result your fee is determined through Training Services NSW formal eligibility criteria. In claiming the concession or exemption, students will be required to supply the required evidence to support the claim in accord with the requirements of Smart and Skilled eligibility.
