  • -the HSC or be mature age;

  • -good English and maths skills so you will need either a Cert III or Cert IV or successfully complete RU Ready evaluation in Language Literacy and Numeracy. Support is available where needed to assist.

  • -if enrolled in Trainee subsidised offers will also need to obtain the employer's endorsement of competency.

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 27 Units of competency, including 24 core and 3 speciality units.

Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.

Course delivery Combination study

Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.

Nirimba

TAFE NSW Nirimba is located within the Nirimba Education Precinct at Quakers Hill, a short 15 minute walk from the Quakers Hill train station. While being Western Sydney’s major centre for training in building and construction, TAFE NSW Nirimba also caters for the logistics, information technology, child studies, business services, music and entertainment and community services sectors.
