Course Details

This qualification reflects the role of surveying or spatial information services assistants. These people provide support under supervision to a surveying or spatial information services team. They perform a range of duties, from collecting basic spatial data and providing field support services, to simple drafting and map production.

Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply in some States where cadastral and mining surveying must be undertaken under the supervision of a registered surveyor. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements.

This qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government, and as a result your fee is determined through Training Services NSW formal eligibility criteria. This criteria will determine your exact fee. Students who meet additional specified criteria, may be eligible for a concession fee or a fee exemption. In claiming the concession or exemption students will be required to supply the required evidence to support the claim in accord with the requirements of Smart and Skilled eligibility.

Further costs in addition to your student fees may be applicable for this qualification. These costs are to provide you with additional resources and/or Incidentals to support your learning. To activate your eligibility you must pay the student fee component PRIOR to commencement of the learning activity.

This offering is for those wanting to work in surveying industry that have minimal or no experience.
The level of this course is aimed at a survey assistant role.

Please contact the TAFE NSW on 131601 to discuss your options prior to enrolment, as other training options may be available.

Participants are required to supply and wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) ? this includes safety boots, cotton drill trousers, long sleeve shirt, gloves, oxy goggles or safety glasses.

It is reccomended to have laptop or computer to complete homework.
