Course Details

This qualification reflects the role of surveying technicians who work under supervision to support a surveying team. They perform a range of duties using surveying tools and equipment, including total stations and global navigation satellite systems (GNSS).

Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply in some States where cadastral and mining surveying must be undertaken under the supervision of a registered surveyor. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements.

This qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway.

A HP Programable Calculator will be required to successfully complete this course cost is approximately $300 and a USB data drive 'stick' cost $10.00. It is recommended that a laptop / notebook computer also be available as a resource for the course. Take home copies of CAD software will be provided for students. MORE ABOUT THIS COURSE

Pre-requisites for the custom pathway program here at Ultimo, applications accepted from advanced entry students only - graduates of the CPP30216 Surveying and Spatial Information Services Certificate III and / or experienced surveyors with at least two years surveying in Australia and / or overseas experience and / or overseas qualifications deem to be equivalent. You must have completed a WHS General Construction Induction (White Card) course prior to starting.

You will need to attend approximately 10 hours of class a week over 3 evenings, and about every second Saturday for field execises. An indication of how your weekly timetable may look is: Mon-Tues, 5.30pm-9.30pm, Sat 8.30am-12:30pm
