This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee. We will ask you whether you would like to apply for a VET Student Loan when you enrol and advise you of the process.
This training is subsidised by the NSW Government, and as a result your fee is determined through Training Services NSW formal eligibility criteria. This criteria will determine your exact fee. Students who meet additional specified criteria, may be eligible for a fee exemption. In claiming the exemption students will be required to supply the required evidence to support the claim in accordance with the requirements of Smart and Skilled eligibility.

Semester 1 Information Week Monday, 21 January to Friday, 25 January 2019. Register your interest via TAFE NSW's Facebook page HERE Although not mandatory, it is expected that learners are working in industry or have a very good understanding of spatial information management and analysis. The option of attending a week-long camp is available for students who prefer practical face-to-face training.
The Diploma Spatial Information Services is a higher-level qualification for the spatial information industry. This qualification combines advanced practical skills associated with managing and analysing spatial information. It includes management units applicable for the learner who supervises staff. Once they have completed this course they may wish to go on to further study including:

? Riverina Institute has a pathway into University of Southern Queensland (USQ)?s Surveying and Spatial Sciences degree.
Due to the nature of the on-line delivery, and the need for workplace or simulated workplace training, it is advised that all students undertaking this course must have good computing skills and ideally gain experience in a suitable workplace. Typically students undertaking this qualification are working in industry, or have studied a degree and want broader Geographic Information System (GIS) practical experience. They are generally managing a team of GIS staff, or are the key GIS contact within an organisation. This qualification is very practical in nature but combines the management units expected of someone supervising staff.
