The nationally accredited Diploma of Property Services (Agency Management) gives you the skills and knowledge needed to lead and manage a real estate agency in NSW. This qualification also fulfills the educational requirement for a Class 1 Real Estate Licence.

INDUSTRY DEMAND
Around 2,550 people are forecast to be employed as real estate agency principals in NSW in 2019/20. This number is expected to grow by 3.5% to 2,640 jobs in 2024/25.
From March 2020, real estate agency principals need to possess a Licensee in Charge (Class 1) licence which requires principals to hold a Diploma qualification (like this one), and take part in annual and continuing professional development.
This course is superseded. You can still enrol in this course, and you will be contacted if you need to transition into the next version when it is available.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for this course, you will need to demonstrate that you have:
- Successfully completed the CPP40307 Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate)
Important
This Diploma is only available to students who have completed the (now retired) Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) with the course code CPP40307.
A new Diploma of Property Services (Agency Management) is currently in development and will be available to students from Semester 2, 2020. This new course will be open to students who have completed the new Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice under course code CPP41419.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
Major reforms to real estate legislation commenced on 23 March 2020. This has resulted in significant changes to real estate agent licensing requirements.
This TAFE NSW course satisfies part of the requirements for a class 1 real estate agent licence.
You are also required to accumulate 2 years of work experience as a licensed agent before you can apply for your class 1 licence.
There are additional requirements (outside this course) you need to meet in order to obtain a real estate agent licence and work in the property industry. These include:
- Minimum age requirement
- Paying the relevant contribution to the Property Services Compensation Fund

STUDY COMMITMENT
This is a Part Time Evening Blended course. You will need to attend approximately 6.7 hours of class, 2 days a week, for 14 weeks.
You may also be required to complete additional study each week outside of class hours, including private study, research and assignment preparation.

To keep you safe while studying, some of our face to face classes may be replaced with online or connected learning. We have also modified our face to face classes to meet physical distancing requirements and increased cleaning on campus. As restrictions ease, the way you attend your class may change again. ADDITIONAL RESOURCES
You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:
You are required to provide your own writing materials such as folder (for handouts or notes), calculate, notebook, pens and pencil, USBs for storage of your completed assignments and learning resources provided on the TAFE Moodle (online).
You will also require a headset with a microphone and a Webcam to enable you to participate in Connected Learning sessions delivered via Microsoft Teams.
To complete your VET Student Loan application, you will need to provide:
- Your Tax File Number (TFN). If you dont have a TFN, click here for information on how to apply for one. You can complete your loan application with a Certificate of Application for a TFN, but must provide your TFN as soon as it is issued. If you dont provide your TFN before your first census day, you will need to pay the tuition fees for that unit of study.
- Your Commonwealth Higher Education Student Support Number (CHESSN) ). If you have previously accessed a loan via the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP), either at TAFE or university, you will already have a CHESSN. You must use the same CHESSN whenever you access a student loan. If you dont have CHESSN, we will allocate one on your behalf.
- A copy of your Australian Year 12 Certificate; OR
- A copy of a certificate showing that you have been awarded a qualification at level 4 or above in the Australian Qualifications Framework (where the language of instruction was English). If you previously completed a Certificate IV or higher qualification at TAFE NSW, just let us know where and when you studied in your application; OR
- Display competence at Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework in both reading and numeracy through an approved Language, Literacy and Numeracy test. We will let you know if this is required once you apply.
