Course Details

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in a variety of community-based performance and production contexts, using some discretion and judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge. They may provide support to others involved in productions.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

It is assumed that you have literacy and numeracy skills at Certificate II level for success in this course. Contact your TAFE NSW campus if you have any questions about your suitability.

The Certificate III in Community Dance, Theatre and Events (Acting) provides students with a comprehensive overview of the skills and knowledge needed to start a career in the performing arts industry. This course provides skills and experience consistent with the growing needs of the entertainment industry. This Certificate III level course and has electives selected to major in Acting for stage and screen.

All applicants are required to successfully complete an audition before being offered a place in the course.

Students learn through practical, hands on classes and exercises in rehearsal rooms, performance spaces and classrooms. All classes have a strong focus on the skills which industry require.

This course is full-time for one semester.

The course will be delivered on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at Nirimba Campus. Each day typically runs from 9:30am until 4:30pm however some timetable variations may occur.
Final timetables will be distributed to enrolled students the week before the course commences.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:30 am to 4:30 pm (subject to change)

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.
