This qualification reflects the role of individuals who are developing a broad range of technical and conceptual design skills and who take responsibility for own outputs in work and learning. Practice at this level is underpinned by the application of introductory design theory and history.

This course is intended to introduce design concepts to students who wish to undertake an introductory design course.
In addition to your classes on campus, you should expect to study between 12 to 22 hours per week. The exact amount will vary based on a number of factors including your previous study and experience.

MORE ABOUT THIS COURSE
This course is intended to introduce design concepts to students who wish to undertake an introductory design course. Typical applicants:
- those wishing to re-introduce themselves to study
- early high school leavers (with RoSA)
- those wishing to progress into other design disciplines other than Graphic Design

You will learn about the history and theory of design and the contemporary design industry. You will research, explore and experiment by producing drawings both by hand and computer and learn how to safely apply the design process to 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional work, based on a design brief.

INFORMATION SESSION: Attend one of the following information sessions to meet with teaching staff, discuss the course, see the facilities and get more information relevant to your individual circumstances. Information session details are:
Drop-In information sessions are available Monday 24 June to Thursday 27 June 2019 between 10:00am and 4:00pm. Additional sessions will be available from Monday 1 to Thursday 4 July 2019 between 10:00am and 4:00pm at Hornsby Campus, Block K.
