Course Details

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply a broad range of competencies in a varied work context in the music industry, using some discretion and judgement and theoretical knowledge. They may provide support to a team.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

However, it is assumed that you have literacy and numeracy at Certificate II level for success in this course. Contact your TAFE NSW campus if you have any questions about your suitability

Licensing/Regulatory Information
National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work: Sets and staging for some performances or events may fall within the definition of construction work. If so, people entering the construction site are required to complete the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (Australian Safety Compensation Council, May 2007). Achievement of the unit 'CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry' from the CPC08 Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package fulfils this requirement.
This course is full-time for one semester.

The Certificate III in Music Industry course will give you an overview of the technologies that may be used in music production and other sectors of the entertainment industry.
You will also learn about how to develop yourself as a music industry professional and create your own music focused business.

This program is focused on giving students the basic knowledge and practical skills that will enable them to undertake a wide range of jobs in a diverse and growing industry. You will be required to attend an average of 18 hours per week including attendance at workshops. Additional study will be required but you can do that off campus at a time that suits you.

Students learn through practical, work based facilitated learning sessions. All sessions have a strong focus on the skills which industry require. Your course will be facilitated by highly qualified, experienced teachers who are active in their professional roles within the entertainment industry.

Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday at TAFE Miller campus. Each day runs from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm however, some timetable variations may occur. Final timetables will be distributed to enrolled students the week before the course commences.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.
