ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

To complete this course students must independently engage in creative industry activities such working on scripts, listening and reviewing podcasts, researching stories, developing podcast ideas, participating in independent, digitally based creative projects.

'STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a full time combination course. You must attend approximately 16 hours of class. You may also be required to complete approximately 16 hours of additional study. This additional study could include private study, work placements and research.

The course will run 2 days a week for 18 weeks.

Students participate in a combination of virtual learning sessions (CORE SUBJECTS) and on-campus classes (PRACTICAL SUBJECTS).

To complete this course students must independently engage in creative industry activities such working on scripts, listening and reviewing podcasts, researching stories, developing podcast ideas, participating in independent, digitally based creative projects.

IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?

This course offering is designed for people who

  • want to work in the creative industries, develop skills to create podcasts and gain skills in editing audio, writing techniques, and creating digital content.

Students will be engaged in a combination of online learning for the compulsory theory components of the course and on-campus classes for all practical learning. With the relaxed COVID-19 restrictions continuing in Newcastle, we can ensure that you will be on-campus for 80% of your training.

If students are unsure of their level of music knowledge and experience, other study options are available such as Certificate II in Music Industry to support your Music training.

This course is currently scheduled on Monday and Tuesday with Day classes. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
