This qualification reflects the role of individuals who work in an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural arts context and produce work that shows a well-developed command of technique in their chosen art form.
Practice at this level is underpinned by application of broad and integrated technical and theoretical knowledge and the ability to analyse and use information from a range of sources.
This is a part time day face to face course. You will need to attend approximately 6 hours of class, over 1 day a week, for 2 years. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 3 hours of other study per week.
You may also be required to complete approximately 4 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours including private study, art practice, community cultural activities work experience, volunteering and personal practice.

This course offering is designed for people who:
- Have completed CUA30515 Certificate III Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts and are seeking further skill development to use as a solo artist and to liaise with community art projects. They continue to develop a range of art and craft skills in an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural arts context and take responsibility for own work and learning including how to develop planning skills as an artist. Practice at this level is underpinned by the application of art theory and cultural history.

This course is currently scheduled on Wednesday from 9.00m to 3.30pm for the first year in 2020. The second year 2021, is scheduled on Thursday from 9.00am to 3.30pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
