  • Completed a Certificate III in Screen and Media or have equivalent industry experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

With 130 locations across the state, TAFE NSW tailors qualifications to meet the needs of the local community and specific student groups (like apprentices, fast-tracked and online students). To make sure this course is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.

To successfully complete this course, you will need to:

  • Complete all units to a competency based level.

INFORMATION SESSIONS

There are no information sessions currently scheduled for this course.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a full time course. You will need to attend approximately 16 hours of class, over 3 days a week, for 18 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 2 hours of other study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 15 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including private study, work experience, research and assignment preparation.


IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?

This course offering is designed for people who:

  • Primarily have completed the Certificate III in Screen and Media. The Certificate III Screen and Media contains content that is fundamental to the continued advancement of these qualifications i.e. the Certificate III promote skills such as animation as well as use of equipment and the ability to articulate ideas

The secondary group may consist of school leavers, people out of work looking to change career direction or looking to build on existing skills, international students. Students will be interviewed as necessary and will be screened for language and literacy in order to offer assistance if required

The areas covered in this course include; digital effects, 3D animation, 3D modelling, drawing, audio production and creative thinking. This course sets the foundation for further study and a career in the animation and digital effects industry.

This course is currently scheduled on Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9.00am to 4.00pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
