This qualification reflects the role of individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate the work of self and/or team in the film, television, radio and interactive media industries.
Licensing/Regulatory Information National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work The National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work applies to persons performing dogging and rigging work. Completion of the following units is required for certification at either basic, intermediate or advanced levels: CPCCLDG3001A Licence to perform dogging CPCCLRG3001A Licence to perform rigging basic level CPCCLRG3002A Licence to perform rigging intermediate level CPCCLRG4001A Licence to perform rigging advanced level.
National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work Sets and staging for some performances or events may fall within the definition of construction work. If so, people entering the construction site are required to complete the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (Australian Safety Compensation Council, May 2007). Achievement of the unit 'CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry' from the CPC08 Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package fulfils this requirement.

This is a full time blended course. You will need to attend approximately 22.5 hours of class, over 3 days a week, for 34 weeks.
You may also be required to complete approximately 12 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including non-facilitated/undirected learning. This includes learning the student may undertake for revison of content, research and preparations of assessments. Unstructed learning for this qualification comprises of: online revisions, private study and assignment preparation. To deepen knowledge of topics and concepts in this course learners are encouraged to revise content and carry out research activities using the internet and/or library.
IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?
The cohort is comprised of local learners wanting to undertake and complete the Diploma of Screen and Media specialising in Makeup across a 12 month period.
This course will predominantly suit learners with an interest in makeup design for the screen and media industry.
Learners will gain a high standard of diploma level competencies required by a person in the makeup industry.
Some study may be undertaken by these learners off campus or self-directed. These industry learners may also already hold a Certificate III in makeup and are wanting to now gain the Diploma qualification.
This cohort of learners will require a makeup style studio/simulated environment, access to industry events and professional consumables and equipment.
There may be learners that already work within the beauty or makeup sector or related industries, that wish to upskill and gain a recognised qualification, these learners would hold existing skills and knowledge and may only need to complete some units face to face.

This course is currently scheduled on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.00am to 4.00pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

PAYMENT OPTIONS AND ASSISTANCE
This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan (VSL). If you meet the VSL eligibility and academic suitability requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee. We will ask you whether you would like to apply for a VET Student Loan when you enrol and advise you of the process.
You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:
You are required to purchase a TAFE Beauty tshirt from our supplier approx $40. Incidental Expenses include a makeup kit approx $500 and SFX kit approx $300. All kits become the physical property of the student and will be retained by the student on completion of training. All learning materials are supplied to the students, students do have the option to purchase additional products/kits direct from the maufacturers. The learners will be required to participate in a final assessment photoshoot. There is a TAFE allocated photograher with an approximate cost of $500 or students may choose to source a photographer of their choice. TAFE NSW has the right and responsibility to make changes to course delivery, timetable and location only if it is in the best interests of all our students or if the advantages of the changes will outweigh any inconveniences (avoiding casual changes to the running of a course or its time, date, fees, or location)

Direct payment by Unit of Study instalments is available for this course.
The Units of Study and associated fees for this course are detailed above. Fees are charged on the census day for each Unit of Study. To secure a loan for part or all of your course, you must be eligible and submit a valid application to the Commonwealth for a VET Student Loan. You may withdraw prior to the census date without incurring a fee.
