Course Details
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have highly specialised technical, creative and conceptual skills in visual communication to conceive, negotiate and realise design solutions.
Practice at this level is underpinned by the application of visual communication and design theory and history and the ability to critically analyse and synthesise information from a range of sources. Advanced communication, organisational and project management skills are also required.
Practitioners may work in many different commercial and community contexts across both print and digital media.

To enter this qualification, individuals must provide evidence of their ability to: - apply visual communication history and theory to own professional practice - produce professional typography - produce graphic designs for two-dimensional and three-dimensional applications - create and manipulate graphics and design complex publication layoutsSkills and knowledge may have been acquired through graphic design work experience or through formal study.
To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you:

Have successfully completed of the Diploma of Graphic Design - Illustration or equivalent.

You will also be required to present a portfolio of original drawings and design work that support learning at Diploma level.

STUDY COMMITMENT
This is a Full Time Face to Face. You will need to attend approximately 16 hours of class, over 3 days a week, for 1 years.
You may also be required to complete approximately 15 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including private study, assignment preparation, and research.
IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?
- Have completed one or a combination of the following:
- Diploma of Graphic Design - Illustration CUA50715
- Degrees of parts thereof in Visual Arts
- Diplomas & Advanced Diplomas in other design disciplines (ie Graphic Design, Fashion, Industrial, Interior).
- Experience in the workplace for example: as a graphic Designer or practising artist.
- In exceptional circumstances learners that have excelled in Design & Technology and/or Visual Arts at high school and/or design and construction for school theatrical productions.

This course is currently scheduled on Tuesday from 10.00am to 5.30pm, Wednesday from 9.00am to 1.00pm and Thursday from 11.00am to 3.30pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan (VSL). If you meet the VSL eligibility and academic suitability requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee.
