Materials needed

To complete this course, the following materials are required:

  • ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

  • You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:

    • Bakery student uniform that includes traditional check trousers, heavy duty white bib apron, double breasted white short sleeved jacket, blue neckerchief, white buttons, white skull cap (beret) and protective footwear.
    • Equipment which is a toolbox that includes a digital thermometer, calculator, bread and scoring knife, metal and ½ moon scraper, scissors, 2 x clean tea towels and ruler.
  • All students will need access to a computer with internet access to undertake online components of the course. If a student does not have access to a computer with internet connection, TAFE NSW can make arrangements to access these resources at the TAFE NSW Library.

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate II in Baking qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 11 Units of competency, including 7 core and 4 speciality units.

Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
