Course Details

This qualification is designed to reflect job roles requiring specialist understanding of financial products and services working in banking, customer contact centre or retail financial services environments. Individuals in these roles apply specialist knowledge and skills to work autonomously and exercise judgement in completing routine and non-routine activities. The qualification allows for specialisation in sales and marketing, lending and mobile banking.

Licensing/Regulatory Information Work functions in the occupational areas where this qualification may be used are subject to regulatory requirements. Refer to the FNS Implementation Guide Companion Volume or the relevant regulator for specific guidance on requirements.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a full time, face to face delivery course. You will need to attend approximately 23 hours of class, over 3 days a week, for 18 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 8 hours of other study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 5 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including private study, research, and assignment preparation.

This course offering is designed for people who:

  • would like to explore the financial services industry or the possibility of progressing onto a Diploma of Banking Services Management.

    Graduates of this course may pursue administrative roles in banking, customer service, credit management, insurance and retail financial services. Successful graduates will achieve the units FNSASIC301 Establish client relationship and analyse needs & FNSASIC032 Develop, present and negotiate client solutions which meet the legislative requirements to provide general advice in tier 2 financial products (savings and deposit accounts).

    This course also provides a pathway for those interested in becoming a financial services adviser or financial planner. Completion of this course meets the entry requirement to the TAFE NSW Bachelor of Applied Commerce degree program.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

A fee applies for most TAFE NSW courses and must be paid when you enrol. The amount you pay depends on the type of course you study, and on your personal circumstances. An initial payment of $80 is required to confirm your enrolment into this course. If you do not wish to continue with your enrolment, you must formally advise Customer Service of your withdrawal.
