Course Details

This qualification is designed for individuals who require further foundation skills development to prepare for workforce entry or vocational training pathways.

This qualification is suitable for individuals who require:

  • A pathway to employment or vocational training
  • Reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication and learning skills at Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 3
  • Entry level digital literacy and employability skills
  • A vocational training and employment plan.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a full time, face to face course. You will need to attend approximately 20 hours of class, over 4 days a week, for 17 weeks. You may also be required to complete approximately 22 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including:-

? Supported study time in the study centre
? Independent study time in the study centre
? Digital workshops
? Access to purchased software on computers in the study centre
? Resources in the TAFE library
? Specific LLN resources in the TAFE library ? including low level readers and textbooks

  • Want to improve their reading, writing, basic maths and basic computing for personal use, work or further study.

This course is currently scheduled on 4 days, Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 2.45pm. The days may be Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday. Optional Workshops are included in your timetable.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
