Work placement

Work placement provides you with learning opportunities that can't be replicated in the classroom. It gives you valuable, real world experience and the opportunity to make industry connections.

  • During your course you'll undertake a mandatory 60 hours of work placement.

  • You are responsible for arranging your own work placement. Our team can offer support and guidance to assist you.

  • Note: If you are unable to complete a work placement, you may be able to undertake an applied business research project in lieu of the work placement.

To make sure this delivery option is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.

  • You are required to provide evidence prior to enrolment of:

    • HSC or equivalent or Tertiary Preparation Certificate or completion of a Certificate IV qualification or higher. If you do not meet the entry requirements, you can apply under special admission provisions, including mature age and disadvantage.
  • To be able to successfully complete this course, you will need:

    • Course completion requires you to complete 24 subjects (240 credit points). Level 100, Level 200 & Level 300. The Bachelor of Business has a specialisation pathway. Each specialisation requires the completion of 6 identified electives - 3 at level 200 and 3 at level 300. The remaining electives to meet course completion can be selected by the student, depending on campus availability. Students can select electives to complete two specialisations. If you wish to exit after completing 8 subjects you will be awarded a Higher Education Diploma of Business. If you wish to exit on completion of 16 subjects you will be eligible for the Associate Degree in Business. You can study this degree in a part-time mode by completing two subjects per week for 6 years.

      Course delivery Combination study

      Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

      Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
