This qualification reflects the role of a variety of workers who use a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge to provide assistance to health professional staff for the care of clients in the acute care setting. Health Services Assistance involves the worker in direct client contact under supervision. To meet course requirements, students will be required to complete the total of 120 hours of full-time unpaid Workplacement (minimum 80 hours acute care facility and 40 hours in another care facility) organised by TAFE NSW in collaboration with NSW Health or other health care provider.
