There are no entry requirements for this qualification

To successfully complete this course you must complete the First Aid unit where you must be able to demonstrate "two minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a resuscitation manikin placed on the floor" and be able to assess for danger and visually and verbally assess the patient. First Aid is an elective unit in this qualification and will involve a one day workshop plus online delivery and self-assessment outside the normal class attendance hours.

This course does not have mandatory work placement however work experience is required for students for up to 35 hours to enhance the skills assessed during the delivery of the course. In order to be eligible to complete work experience for this course students will be required to adhere to the NSW Health Placement Requirements if their placement is within NSW Health Central sterilising Units. This includes a National Criminal records check (students may be excluded from work experience in NSW Health centres depending on the outcomes of this report).
