This course is currently scheduled on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:00am to 4:00pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: short answer, extended response, research tasks, multiple choice questions
Skills assessments: projects, case studies
Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation
Simulated workplace projects: scenario-based problem solving
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.
During your course you will undertake a mandatory 35 hours of work placement with a suitable industry employer.
Depending on your mode of study, TAFE NSW will either arrange your work placement for you or support you to find one.

Work Placement is a requirement of this course
-35 hours work placement under supervision, work placement can only be allocated to students that have successfully completed all units.
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Pathology Collection qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 14 Units of competency, including 9 core and 5 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
You will attend a TAFE NSW campus or Connected Learning Centre to connect with your teachers and other students in a virtual classroom where you will participate in learning activities via video or web conferencing technology. Much like a regular class, you will have scheduled times of attendance. Depending on what you are studying, your course may also include some online units or practice training though our network of Mobile Training Units.
