To complete the Diploma of Nursing students are required to successfully complete all units and complete a minimum of 400hrs of unpaid professional experience to meet the assessment requirements of the units. On completion of HLT54115 qualification students are eligible to apply for registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (http://www.ahpra.gov.au).
ENROLLING IN FIRST AID UNITS OF COMPETENCY
If you are enrolling in a First Aid unit of competency you are advised that to complete the unit you must be able to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for at least 2 minutes on the floor. If you have a disability that would prevent you from performing required basic life support skills you are advised that you will not be able to achieve the unit of competency.
You will be required to provide evidence of vaccinations prior to clinical placement, vaaccinations and Criminal record check (CRC) as per the Ministry of Health guidelines for Nursing students and a Working with Children Check WCC (volunteer only).
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.
This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee. We will ask you whether you would like to apply for a VET Student Loan when you enrol and advise you of the process.
This course is approved for VET Student Loans (VSL) to cover all or part of your fees. You will need a TAFE uniform shirt and black enclosed shoes for clinical placement and laboratory work.
