To complete the Diploma of Nursing students are required to successfully complete all units and complete a minimum of 400hrs of unpaid professional experience to meet the assessment requirements of the units. On completion of HLT54115 qualification students are eligible to apply for registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (http://www.ahpra.gov.au).
ENROLLING IN FIRST AID UNITS OF COMPETENCY
If you are enrolling in a First Aid unit of competency you are advised that to complete the unit you must be able to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for at least 2 minutes on the floor. If you have a disability that would prevent you from performing required basic life support skills you are advised that you will not be able to achieve the unit of competency.

MORE ABOUT THIS COURSE
There will be a minimum 400 hours of mandatory clinical health placements where you will be required to attend a variety of shifts from Monday to Friday.
You will also be required to undertake approximately 7 hours per week of unstructured learning including assessment preparation, skills practice, assignment research, pre and post reading and online learning tasks. There will be 400 hour
All applicants are required to attend the orientation and assessment session. At this session you will complete a pre-enrolment literacy and numeracy assessment, meet with the teaching staff, and get more information about the course.
These will be held every Tuesday or Wednesday during May/June 2019 at either 10am or 5pm at St George TAFE, Building C, Room CG05 Cnr President Ave and Princes Highway Kogarah 2217. You will be contacted regarding these information sessions.
To achieve this qualification, students must complete at least 400 hours of documented work placement as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
Before commencing any clinical placements in NSW Health facilities, you will be required to:

Sign the NSW Health Code of Conduct & other forms required by NSW Health
Undertake Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Infectious Diseases and provide your Health Care Worker/Student Vaccination Record Card
