This course is currently scheduled on Monday, Tuesday and Friday with day classes. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: quizzes, short answer questions, case studies, written tasks, research projects
Practical assessments: manual handling, medication administration, wound care and activities of daily living
Workplace assessments: written tasks, reflective journals, verbal or written questioning, practical demonstrations, workplace portfolio
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.
This course requires you to successfully complete a minimum of 400 hours of work placement, which meets the minimum number of hours required by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). TAFE NSW will arrange your work placement.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Nursing qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 25 units of competency, including 20 core and 5 speciality units.
