Work placement

Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

  • The Units of Study and associated fees for this course are detailed below. Fees are charged on the census day for each Unit of Study. You may withdraw prior to the census date without incurring a fee.

  • Before your enrolment application can be accepted for this course, you will need to have a clinical practice agree to supervise you, in order to complete your audiometric tasks. This can be evidenced by a Supervisor Statement that will be provided to you on your application.

  • To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you:

    • have a suitably qualified supervisor. You will be required to complete workplace cases that have been supervised by a qualified supervisor to complete this qualification.
  • To successfully complete this course, you will need:

    • to be able to complete assignments and case studies and undertake practical tasks in an audiometry clinic under the supervison of a qualified supervisor.

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Audiometry qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 19 Units of competency, including 11 core and 8 speciality units.

Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.

Course delivery Combination study

Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
