Course Details

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for individuals to safely perform foundation digital literacy tasks using a personal computer and a range of software applications and digital devices.

Basic literacy and numeracy skills

The Information Technology department maintains an open door policy and students are encouraged to attend the department to complete directed activities and project based work experience. Equal to approximately 2.5 hours per week that we recommend you spend at TAFE.

Please attend your class induction at the beginning of your first timetabled lesson. Your course mentor will discuss the course with you. They will discuss timetables, expectations, resources, support and recognition and assessment requirements.

The Information Technology department hosts regular industry and community events called Talking Tech. These sessions are an excellent way of touring our facilities, meeting our staff and discussing our course options. Please follow the Talking Tech Facebook group to check for the next event.

Attendance is Thursday and Friday 9.30am to 12.30pm plus IT workshops on Monday and Wednesday 4.00pm to 7.00pm in block A, room AG.06 for 15 weeks during semester at TAFE NSW Griffith.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government, and as a result your fee is determined through Training Services NSW formal eligibility criteria. This criteria will determine your exact fee. Students who meet additional specified criteria, may be eligible for a concession fee or a fee exemption. In claiming the concession or exemption students will be required to supply the required evidence to support the claim in accord with the requirements of Smart and Skilled eligibility.

Payment Plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

To activate your eligibility you must pay the student fee component PRIOR to commencement of the learning activity.
