Course Details

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a wide range of general information and communications technology (ICT) technical functions and to achieve a degree of self-sufficiency as an advanced ICT user.

Persons working at this level will support information technology activities in the workplace across a wide range of ICT areas, including:
** technical support,
** network administration,
** web technologies,
** software applications and
** digital media technologies.

Licensing/Regulatory Information
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
There are no formal Training Package entry requirements for this course.
Timetables may need to be adjusted during the semester subject to availability of resources. In addition to this, students will be expected to do additional study each week on research, practice, and assignments outside your class hours.

Even though the course entry requirement is not required, it is strongly recommended that you have the fundamental knowledge and skills in ICT prior to studying this course. You must meet and discuss with the course Head Teacher about your training requirements. You must also attend one of the compulsory information sessions.

You will need to attend between 18 and 20 hours of face-to-face class and online session per week. The timetable may include classes between Monday and Saturday, from 9.00am to 5.30pm and possible 1 evening per week from 5:30pm to 9:00pm

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to Sydney TAFE and the government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
