The nationally accredited Certificate IV in Digital and Interactive Games enables you to unleash your creativity as a game developer in a booming industry. Create game design documentation and learn how to use industry-standard software to develop a working prototype of an interactive game.

INFORMATION SESSIONS

There are no information sessions currently scheduled for this course.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a Full Time course. You will need to attend approximately 21.3 hours of class, 3 days a week, for 18 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 5.3 hours of other study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 16 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours including private study, research and assignment preparation.

IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU?

This course offering is designed for people who have completed lower-level qualifications (e.g. Certificate III in Screen and Media) or have equivalent experience and knowledge, seeking entry level games design, 3D animation or digital media production industry roles. Specifically targeted at aspiring digital media professionals and game designers/developers.

The way you learn may change during your enrolment to ensure the best learning experience or to keep you safe as COVID-19 restrictions change, and some of our face to face classes may change to online or virtual classroom learning. If work placement and the demonstration of practical skills are requirements of your course, there may be a modification or delay in the planned timeframe due to COVID-19 impacts. Be assured, we'll keep you informed every step of the way.

This course is currently scheduled on Monday, Tuesday from 9:30am to 5:30pm and Thursday from 9:30am to 4.30pm. Attendance is a mixture of face to face and virtual classroom. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

This is a fully government-subsidised JobTrainer course. Eligibility criteria applies.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

Students are required to bring their own USB Flash Drive or Portable Hard Drive. If they don't already own one, an 8 GB Flash Drive (approximately $5) will be sufficient.
