Course Details

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to manage, as an independent ICT specialist or as part of a team, the installation of a range of networks, including internetworking, security and e-business integration.

There are no formal prerequisites for individuals to participate in this course. However, it is recommended that students have completed the Certificate IV in Information Technology Networking, or have acquired demonstrated and documented industry experience that would place a student at the same competency level of an individual who has completed the Certificate IV in Information Technology Networking.

This course offering of ICT50415 in Diploma of Networking is the third and final component of the Networking stream and provides the necessary knowledge and skills for students to successfully work in the Information Technology industry as a Network Engineer or Network Manager.

Students who have no Networking experience or have recently left school, are advised to complete the first component of the Networking Stream which is ICT30115 in Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology, Network Administration steam.

This qualification has become superseded across Australia and an updated version will soon be available. This means that we may continue to deliver the old qualification for 12 months from the date of change. Students enrolling must complete the qualification by the transition date or will be transitioned to the new qualification. Transitioning to a new qualification will not result in financial penalty. A message for young people under 17 years of age - If you are under 17 years and wish to enrol you will need to have completed Year 10 or have special permission from school and TAFE to do so.
This course is currently scheduled on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 9.00am to 4.00pm. Face to face attendance for 15 hours per week for 18 weeks and?2 hours of prescribed self-paced activities.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.
This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee. We will ask you whether you would like to apply for a VET Student Loan when you enrol and advise you of the process.

A range of criteria apply for course fees and to access to government subsidised training.

Remember, TAFE NSW provides a range of easy and flexible payment options for students or a nominated third party (If a nominated third party is covering the cost of your fees, a letter of authority or purchase order will be required).

Students can pay their fee upfront, pay off their student fees in instalments or take out a VET Student Loan. This study now, pay later option is a student loan scheme funded by the Commonwealth Government.

When your enrolment is complete, and you have paid the applicable fees, you will be entitled to attend class, participate in training, sit for examinations, receive educational awards, use amenities and services and receive an active TAFEcard (which provides access to library resources).

There may be some additional charges to cover the costs of undertaking this training.

Costs associated with work experience and field trips such as food, transport and accommodation are at the students own expense.
