This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan (VSL).
This course is delivered in Block Release, and each block is currently scheduled for Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 4.00pm. Updated attendance schedules will be sent each Semester by your teacher.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: short answer response, multiple choice, case study
Practical skills assessments: submission of a workplace logbook
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

Students applying for a VET Student Loan eligible course will need to have access to the electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF).
Eligible students can apply for a loan to pay for their fees up to capped amounts through the Commonwealth Governments VET Student Loans scheme. The Commonwealth requires all VET students to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI), and access to government subsidised courses depends on this. Information regarding USI and instructions on how to get your USI are available here www.usi.gov.au. When you have it, keep it with your other personal details so you will have it at enrolment. If you do apply for a VET Student Loan you will need to have your Tax File Number (TFN) handy. If you do not have a TFN you can apply for one through most Australia Post outlets, and obtain a Certificate of Application for a TFN. Once you receive your TFN from the Australian Tax Office (ATO) you must contact your college so they can arrange for you to enter it into your VET Student Loan application.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Aeroskills (Avionics) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 32 Units of competency , including 8 core and 13 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.
Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
