Assessments

Work placement

Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

To complete this course, the following materials are required:

  • If you do apply for a VET Student Loan you will need to have your Tax File Number (TFN) handy. If you do not have a TFN you can apply for one through most Australia Post outlets, and obtain a Certificate of Application for a TFN. Once you receive your TFN from the Australian Tax Office (ATO) you must contact your college so they can arrange for you to enter it into your VET Student Loan application.

  • ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

  • You will need to provide the following resources which are retained on completion of study:

  • To take this course as an apprenticeship, you must be employed as an apprentice in industry as evidenced by a letter of support from your employer

  • Submit your Training Plan Proposal (TPP) with your application

  • To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:

    • employed within the Aircraft Maintenance Sector and evidence of any RPL or credit transfer transcripts.
  • To successfully complete this course, you will need:

    • to complete all training, assessments and workplace training log.

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Diploma of Aeroskills (Avionics) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 32 Units of competency , including 8 core and 13 speciality units.

Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.

Course delivery Combination study

Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
