The nationally accredited Certificate III in Applied Fashion Design and Technology is your opportunity to explore your fashion potential. Sewing is a skill for life and handmade is in. As more people look to reduce fashion waste, there is increased demand for people who can create handcrafted garments and complete alterations. This is a niche industry where your creativity and eye for detail will be admired and in demand.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
With 130 locations across the state, TAFE NSW tailors qualifications to meet the needs of the local community and specific student groups (like apprentices, fast-tracked and online students). To make sure this course is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.
To successfully complete this course, you will need:
- to attend three days per week face to face and/or blended classes, you will be required to complete all homework and achieve competent marks for each unit of competency.

STUDY COMMITMENT
This is a full-time, blended delivery course. You will need to attend approximately 19 hours of class, over 3 days a week, for 18 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 11 hours of other study per week.
You may also be required to complete approximately 17 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including self-directed learning, research, testing patterns, sourcing fabrics and components, practicing machine skills and market research.

This course is currently scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 4:00pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

An initial payment of $80 is required to confirm your enrolment into this course. If you do not wish to continue with your enrolment, you must formally advise Customer Service of your withdrawal.
