This course is currently scheduled for block attendance. An individual training plan will be provided to you when you enrol in this course.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: short answer, multiple-choice questions and quizzes
Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation in work areas with varying terrain and material types
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.
There is no work placement requirement for this qualification. As an apprentice, you’ll gain experience with your employer.
If you are enrolling as a non-apprentice, you need to be in relevant employment or have access to simulated workplaces to meet the completion requirements.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Civil Construction (Road Construction and Maintenance) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 26 Units of competency, including 8 core and 18 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
