Course Details

This qualification reflects the role of employees working in supervisory positions in civil construction. They perform tasks involving a broad range of varied activities most of which are complex and non-routine. They are responsible for the quantity and quality of the output of others, contribute to the development of technical solutions to non-routine problems and apply management plans to the workplace.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, it is assumed that you have literacy, numeracy and technical skills at Certificate III level for success in this course. Contact your TAFE NSW campus if you have any questions about your suitability.

COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:

  • Working in the civil construction industry.
  • It is not essential that you are highly skilled at using computers to study this course, however, you need to be able to operate a computer.

To successfully complete this course, you will need:

  • To have adequate motor skills and physical fitness to undertake routine tasks relevant to workplace activities.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a blended course. You will need to complete approximately 1 hour of other study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 12 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including research, online learning material and workplace training.

An individual training plan will be provided when you enrol in this course. Your plan will outline the recommended study timetable and detail your units and assessments.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
