The nationally accredited Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision elevates your skills to work as a civil construction site supervisor. Learn to work in teams and supervise construction projects, as well as implement operational plans and apply site risk management systems.

Traineeship
TAFE NSW also offers the Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision as a traineeship. To be eligible to enrol as a trainee you must:

  • Be employed in the civil construction industry as this course is delivered in the workplace
  • Have a signed traineeship contract

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

A white card (or general construction induction card) is required for workers who want to carry out construction work in NSW. This is specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007).

  • Intermediate computer skills
  • The ability to do maths at a Year 12 HSC level

COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:

  • Working in the civil construction industry, in a supervisory role.
  • It is not essential that you are highly skilled at using computers to study this course, however, you need to be able to operate a computer.

To successfully complete this course, you will need:

  • To have adequate motor skills and physical fitness to undertake routine tasks relevant to workplace activities.

STUDY COMMITMENT

This is a blended course. You will need to complete approximately 3 hours of study per week.

You may also be required to complete approximately 9 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including research, online learning material and workplace training.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
