The Statement of Attainment in Hospitality (Barista Skills) equips you to launch your career as a barista in the fast-paced hospitality industry. Learn the practical skills to create a perfect coffee moment for your customers.

Step into the world of hospitality, and through theory and practical course work learn to:
- Select and grind coffee beans
- Advise customers and take espresso coffee orders

This is a part-time course. You will need to attend approximately 15 hours of class over 3 days. You may also be required to complete additional study outside of class hours, including private study, research, assignment and practice.
Please note: All face to face on campus delivery and assessment will comply with TAFE NSW COVID-19 Safe Guidelines.
To be able to successfully complete this course, all students must wear black pants, a black or white shirt and enclosed black non-slip shoes.

If work placement and the demonstration of practical skills are requirements of your course, there may be a modification or delay in the planned timeframe due to COVID-19 impacts. Be assured, we'll keep you informed every step of the way.
This course is currently scheduled on Wednesday and Thursday from 9.00am to 3.30pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

FULLY GOVERNMENT SUBSIDISED SUMMER SKILLS PROGRAM
This is a fully government-subsidised Summer Skills course for eligible students, meaning you will not have to pay any course fees. It is part of a program to help people develop the skills they need to get a job, undertake entry level qualifications or transition to a new job.
You must meet Smart and Skilled eligibility guidelines which are:
live or work in NSW
be an Australian Citizen, a permanent resident, a New Zealand citizen, or a humanitarian visa holder
have left school or is leaving school this year
AND meet one of the following criteria:
2021 school leaver, 16 years of age or over
Other young people, aged 16 - 24, who are not at school
If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee.
