Course Details

This is a preparatory qualification which provides a defined and limited range of basic skills and knowledge used in hairdressing salons by individuals who provide assistance with client services. These routine and repetitive tasks are completed under direct supervision and with guidance from hairdressers who manage the client service.

The combined skills and knowledge do not provide for a job outcome as a hairdresser and this qualification is intended to prepare individuals for further training.

No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
Total amount of training will be 136 hours face-to-face over 17 weeks, with directed learning activities to be completed in the learners' own time. In some cases learners may require more hours for directed learning depending on each individual?s circumstances, and learners are required to exercise initiative in terms of independent research and assignments in their own time.

Note: Please wear closed in protective footwear and clothing that is clean and professional for the industry. This includes a black sleeved shirt and pants or a black skirt below knee length.
Monday 5th of August 2019, at TAFE NSW Nowra. Attend: L Block. Time: 8:30am to 5:00pm. Attendance is 8 hours every Tuesday for 17 weeks.

Depending on your previous qualifications and experience your fee may decrease from the maximum shown.
Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government, and as a result your fee is determined through Training Services NSW formal eligibility criteria. This criteria will determine your exact fee. Students who meet additional specified criteria, may be eligible for a concession fee or a fee exemption. In claiming the concession or exemption students will be required to supply the required evidence to support the claim in accord with the requirements of Smart and Skilled eligibility.
