  • You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:

  • There is essential equipment required for the qualification. Information will be available at the information session and first day of class and will cost approximately $850 from a supplier of your choice. The essential equipment becomes the physical property of the student and will be retained by the student on completion of training.

  • To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:

    • over 21 years of age, be working in industry and be able to provide evidence of working in industry. You will also need to provide evidence demonstrating skills, training, practical experience within the industry

  • To successfully complete this course, you will need:

    • to complete 28 units of competency, addressing all aspects of each assessment including treatments on live models. and be competent in the vocation to the required industry standard.
    • to complete this course you must be able to provide evidence of employment within the hairdressing industry. This could consist of a signed letter from the employer (please note letter must be on letter head with company details and abn).

Units Units taught in this course

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Hairdressing qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 28 units of competency, including 21 core and 7 speciality units.

Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.

Course delivery Combination study

Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
