These individuals work relatively autonomously, and are accountable for personal outputs. Their work involves the self-directed application of knowledge and skills with substantial depth in some areas where judgement is required in planning and selecting appropriate equipment, services and techniques.
Work is typically conducted in beauty salons and spas.
No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Your first day of attendance (Wednesday 26 June 11.00am to 2.00pm) will be your orientation day but if you have questions about the course or would like assistance in enroling then there are teachers present Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5pm that can assist you in the college. You may also get assistance over the phone if you contact the hair & beauty section on 9941 5254 or email hairbeautyNB@tafensw.edu.au . Hair and Beauty Reception Building A, level 1. You can pay for the course on a payment plan. No cash can be accepted. If you are under 17 you will need to contact the section on 02 9941 5254 prior to enrolment or email hairbeautyNB@tafensw.edu.au
This course is for beauty therapists. TAFE NSW has the responsibility to make changes to course delivery, timetable and location only if it is in the best interests of all our students or if the advantages of the changes will outweigh any inconveniences (avoiding casual changes to the running of a course or its time, date, fees, or location). Classes, workshops and Clinic days will be held on Wednesday, Thursday & Fridays. The full schedule will be issued at orientation. Orientation is compulsory attendance on Wednesday 26 June June from 11.00am to 2.00pm. First class is Wednesday 24 July.
In addition to college attendance , students are expected to practice skills in the workplace and complete additional assessment tasks, research projects and other tasks outside of college attendance.

PAYMENT OPTIONS AND ASSISTANCE
This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan (VSL). If you meet the VSL eligibility and academic suitability requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee. We will ask you whether you would like to apply for a VET Student Loan when you enrol and advise you of the process.

To secure a loan for part or all of your course, you must be eligible and submit a valid application to the Commonwealth for a VET Student Loan. You may withdraw prior to the census date without incurring a fee.
