If you meet the VSL eligibility and academic suitability requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee. We will ask you whether you would like to apply for a VET Student Loan when you enrol and advise you of the process.

  • The Units of Study and associated fees for this course are detailed below. Fees are charged on the census day for each Unit of Study. To secure a loan for part or all of your course, you must be eligible and submit a valid application to the Commonwealth for a VET Student Loan. You may withdraw prior to the census date without incurring a fee.

  • ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

  • You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:

    • A tunic is required to participate in practical classes at an approximate cost of $80.00

Additional entry requirements

To make sure this delivery option is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.

  • To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you:

    • have achieved a Diploma of Beauty Therapy; AND
    • have 12 months post-qualification experience as a beauty therapist with a primary focus on providing facial services, skin services and hair reduction services; OR
    • are an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse; AND
    • have 12 months post-qualification experience in the application of knowledge in human biology, anatomy and physiology.
  • As part of this course, you will be required to provide services on paying clients and may also need to provide models for some of your practical classes and assessments. You must comply with Work Health & Safety requirements for classes, including wearing closed in protective footwear and clothing that is clean and professional for the industry in all classes and work placement

  • Work Placement is a requirement of this course, you will need to complete:

    • a total of 480 hrs, Work Placement is designed to develop the students underpinning skills and knowledge, while complementing their formal on the job training. A Training Record Book is provided as a compulsory component for this course. This book is used to gather evidence of work both on and off the job during formal training sessions. The evidence the student provides is validated by the teacher and the host employer. The book addresses the key competencies of each unit and clearly outlines the evidence required to demonstrate a progression in skill and knowledge development.
  • The required hours for workplace activity training will take place in a registered business approved by the teaching section and by a qualified Laser and IPL therapist to support the skill development of the student.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Advanced Diploma of Intense Pulsed Light and Laser for Hair Reduction qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 7 Units of competency, including 7 core and 0 speciality units.

    Course delivery Combination study

    Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

    Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
