Learners will be required to demonstrate practical components of the course either in a real or in a simulated retail environment. Learners will require access to computer, internet, headset and a recording device (mobile phone).
TAFE NSW also offers the Certificate II in Retail Services course as a traineeship. To be eligible to enrol as a trainee, you must be employed in Retail and have a signed traineeship contract.
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate II in Retail Services qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 12 Units of competency, including 7 core and 5 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
You will attend a TAFE NSW campus or Connected Learning Centre to connect with your teachers and other students in a virtual classroom where you will participate in learning activities via video or web conferencing technology. Much like a regular class, you will have scheduled times of attendance. Depending on what you are studying, your course may also include some online units or practice training though our network of Mobile Training Units.
TAFE NSW Forbes has a main campus on the corner of Browne and Harold streets and the Mary Street Annexe. TAFE NSW Forbes offers a range of practical courses in vocational access and general education, together with trade programs such as carpentry and joinery, along with a range of primary industries and natural resources. The college also specialises in aged care, business, computing, hairdressing, retail and welding programs.
