Traineeship
TAFE NSW also offers the Certificate III in Tourism as a traineeship. To be eligible to enrol in the course as a trainee you must:
- Be employed in the tourism industry as this course is delivered in the workplace
- Have a signed traineeship contract

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
With 130 locations across the state, TAFE NSW tailors qualifications to meet the needs of the local community and specific student groups (like apprentices, fast-tracked and online students). To make sure this course is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.
To complete this qualification, you are required to:
- Attend both face-to-face and virtual classes at the allocated time on the timetable.
- Classes are not recorded therefore they cannot be taken at an alternate time slot.
- Participate in class activities via Microsoft Teams and in the classroom as programmed.
- Electronically submit assessment through Microsoft Teams or TAFE NSW Moodle.
- Successfully complete all assessments for each unit in the course.

STUDY COMMITMENT
This is a full time, combination course. You must attend approximately 19 hours of class. You may also be required to complete approximately 6 hours of additional study. This additional study could include private study, work placements and research.
The course will run 4 days a week for 18 weeks.
Tourism Face-to-Face classes (where applicable) will be conducted at a either Bankstown Campus, Blacktown Campus or Campbelltown Campus. This will be confirmed once course enrolments are finalised.

The way you learn may change during your enrolment to ensure the best learning experience or to keep you safe as COVID-19 restrictions change, and some of our face to face classes may change to online or virtual classroom learning. Also, to ensure that we keep you safe while studying, we may modify our face to face classes to meet physical distancing requirements and increased cleaning on campus. If work placement and the demonstration of practical skills are requirements of your course, there may be a modification or delay in the planned timeframe due to COVID-19 impacts. Be assured, we'll keep you informed every step of the way.
This course is currently scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday with all day classes and Wednesday morning classes. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:
You are required to provide your own device to access the TAFE NSW Moodle, Microsoft Teams and complete all your course work and assessments. A laptop or PC is recommended. A smartphone will not meet your requirements.
TAFE NSW students who do not have access to Internet or Microsoft Teams via their own device may access computer facilities through TAFE NSW Libraries. If you require access to a computer, please contact your nearest TAFE NSW Library, as bookings may be required.
