Course Details

This qualification reflects the role of commercial cooks who use a wide range of well-developed cookery skills and sound knowledge of kitchen operations to prepare food and menu items. Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

This qualification provides a pathway to work as a commercial cook in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafs, and coffee shops.

No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Payment by instalment may also be available. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES

This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion (capped at $2,000) of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.

The fee category that will apply to you depends on your eligibility and your individual circumstances. Your fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

INFORMATION SESSION
Tuesday 25th - Friday 28th June 2019 from 9:00am to 04:00pm at 154 Old Pittwater Road, M Block, Level 3, Room 22. Please bring this receipt to orientation.
The information sessions are drop in sessions, you are only required to attend for approximately 30 minutes and we can answer any questions you may have regarding our courses, timetables, uniforms and equipment.

Part Time Day 1 day per week.
Before you can start an apprenticeship, you first need to find an employer in the industry you're interested in that will support you through your studies. You and your employer should contact an Apprenticeship Network Provider (ANP) and tell them you're interested in studying at TAFE NSW. The ANP will help you and your employer to complete a Training Contract. Once you have a Training Contract, we will help you, your employer and the ANP to complete a Training Plan Proposal. Once you have both these documents, the ANP will lodge them with Training Services NSW and we will contact you to complete your enrolment.
