This qualification reflects the role of skilled operators who use a broad range of hospitality service, sales or operational skills combined with supervisory skills and sound knowledge of industry operations to plan, monitor and evaluate the work of team members. They operate independently or with limited guidance from others, and use discretion to solve non-routine problems.
This qualification provides a pathway to work as a supervisor in hospitality organisations such as restaurants, hotels, motels, clubs, pubs, cafs, and coffee shops. This qualification allows for multi-skilling and for specialisation in accommodation services, food and beverage, and gaming.
Possible job titles include: bar supervisor or team leader concierge duty manager food and beverage supervisor or team leader front office supervisor or team leader housekeeping supervisor or team leader gaming supervisor or team leader shift manager.
No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

This is a full-time face to face course over one and half semesters. You will need to attend approximately 20 hours of class, over 3-4 days a week, for 18 weeks. The actual day and time of attendance depends on the specific F&B group that you will be placed into 30 March 2020 until 11 September 2020. One and half semesters allocated to complete the mandatory 36 shifts industry work placement.
All of the above is indicative and subject to change, but your final timetable will specify the allocated weeks, days, times and class breaks too.
You may also be required to complete approximately 13 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including unstructured learning may include private study, assignment preparation, work experience and research. (independent study, research, practice and assignments).

You will need to attend approximately 20 hours of class a week over 3-4 days a week for 18 weeks. If you wish to see the timetables prior to the start of your studies please ask a Hospitality teacher.
SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.

-Provide responsible service of alcohol (RSA card $85 - current L&G NSW price); Provide Responsible Conduct of Gaming (RCG $35 card - current L&G NSW price); $10 name badge; Optional suggested text book approx. $80; Food & Beverage restaurant kit aprox. $40; Hospitality uniform including black leather shoes that is worn in the restaurant practical classes approx. $100;
