Course Details
This qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate independently, have responsibility for others and make a range of operational business decisions.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector as a departmental or small business manager. The diversity of employers includes restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafs, and coffee shops. This qualification allows for multiskilling and for specialisation in accommodation services, cookery, food and beverage and gaming.
No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.To successfully complete this course, you will need to: - Provide hospitality service to customers for a minimum of 12 complete service periods (shifts). - Complete a maximum of 6 shifts on campus and the remainder can be signed off by a workplace supervisor during work experience.
Students are required to wear - black buisness pants, black covered leather shoes and a TAFE NSW Buisness shirt (supplied).

STUDY COMMITMENT
This is a full time course. You will need to attend approximately 14.1 hours of class, over 3 days a week, for 36 weeks. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 10.5 hours of other study per week.
You may also be required to complete approximately 1.7 hours of additional study each week outside of class hours, including work experience (total hours of 160).

This course is currently scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday, from 9.00am to 3.30pm and Thursday from 2.00pm to 9.30pm. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan (VSL). If you meet the VSL eligibility and academic suitability requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee.
